Project ideas

This is a devlog on project ideas.

This week, we got to know our theme for our assignment project, "change".

Actually, this is very broad. Almost anything can be a "change". We even think that the concept of "change" can be even bigger than "game". However, I still came up with some ideas. They are not specific, but better than nothing.

Thinking about "change", I immediately got this idea in my mind, "age". A person keeps growing older, everything changes. There are plenty of games related to this concept. We can make a game where we play as a person growing older, or maybe an old man recalling his stories. I remember there was a game on steam where you travel around the world, recalling the story of you and your wife. There are many options, but all of them require a good story. A 2.5D game is the best option for us. This is a story-telling game, some may not like it because there won't be any fight.

Thinking in the opposite way, what about "unchanged"? There was a "stone simulator" on steam. Although I've never played it, I can guess about the concept. Maybe we can play as something not alive at all (or maybe a tree, which is alive). It's some kind of story-telling game, but we may not need and "story". It can be a rock watching everything changing around it. Same to above, not much fight, not much gameplay.

What about something more about gameplay? For example, transformation? We can make a game where you roll! I mean, yeah, roll. You are a ball rolling around for some purpose, maybe to roll into a hole, or maybe hit enemies. You touch some transform package, you become a cube. or a trihedron? This is easy to achieve. The biggest challenge is about how to make the control more smooth. And of course, we need some reason to get the player willing to transform.

Can't think about any ideas more specific, but these can be a starting point.
